Job Title: Dance Specialist-Camp
Position Summary:
Responsible for creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers enrolled in specialty dance camp, while supporting daily dance instruction and activities.
Essential Functions:
Design camper programs around specific camp specialties such as dance, acro, and cheer.
Plan and schedule activities based on the abilities, and interests of campers.
Choreograph weekly routines for camper performances at the end of the week
Demonstrate appropriate use of equipment, proper techniques in activity participation, and articulate expected learning and achievement for satisfactory completion of activities.
Monitor participation to ensure safety rules and requirements are followed.
Maintain awareness of potential health and safety issues, identify hazards, and take appropriate action to resolve.

Qualifications:
Minimum 18 years of age.
High School graduate or equivalent; minimum one year college preferred.
Experience working with children in day camp setting.
Ability to interact effectively with children and parents on a range of issues.
Dance and dance instruction experience. Acrobatics, Cheer, and Jazz or Hip Hop experience preferred
Certified, or ability to be certified, within first 30 days of hire in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention.
Physical Demands:
Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Required to demonstrate physical stamina and agility, and stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, run, and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and communicate verbally in a noisy environment.
