Wellness Director
Position Summary:
Develops, organizes, implements, and monitors a range of health and wellness programs based on member’s requests, research, and previous successes.
Essential Functions:
Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers.
Researches and develops strategies to enhance programs and motivate staff to achieve individual and organization goals.
Teach/substitute Group Exercise classes.
Reviews and evaluates staff performance; takes necessary corrective action.
Establishes new programs and expand program within community to meet strategic and operating plans.
Assists in the marketing and distribution of program materials and information.
Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
Coordinates and schedules equipment maintenance and repairs.
Engages members in areas of recommendations, program and equipment feedback, areas of concern.
Coordinates use of facilities and equipment for program activities and special events.
Compiles program statistics; evaluates effectiveness of, and participation in, programs; makes recommendations based on data.
Manage, monitor, and report on issues of safety and security.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, or related field with 2 years related experience; or 5 or more years experience successfully managing a high activity wellness program.
Experience in planning and directing a wide range of health and wellness programs.
Ability to create marketing and communication programs for this function.
Experience in dealing with, and resolving, a wide range of customer issues.
Experience in professionally dealing with safety issues and emergencies.
Proven capability to effectively manage staff and volunteers.
Experience in recruiting, leading, and developing high performance team members.
Physical Demands:
Ability to engage sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform and demonstrate essential functions, and supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights.
Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing, walking, or running for varying lengths of time.

Compensation: $46,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
