Job Title: Teacher-Lead EEC Certified Job Family: Child Care
Mandatory EEC Certification to be uploaded with resume.
Position Summary:
Responsible for the planning, program implementation, and supervision of a class of pre-school children. May, on occasion, temporarily assume duties of the Director of Pre-School.
Essential Functions:
• Prepare teaching plans and programs in accordance with established guidelines.
• Adapt and implement daily lessons and activity plans.
• Model the Y’s healthy eating standards by consuming HEPA compliant foods and beverages during meal and snack times; and avoiding consumption of food and beverages during other program times.
• Model the Y’s active living standards by engaging in games and physical activities with youth.
• Adjust lessons and teaching approach to needs of individual children to match interests, handicaps, special talents, learning style, and pace.
• Provide a learning environment respectful of a child’s learning level and personal experiences.
• Provide an environment conducive to group learning and interactions.
• Make and communicate on-going observations and evaluations necessary for monitoring progress and areas of improvement.
• Conduct conferences and other communications for parent interaction and understanding.
• Maintain required program records and documentation.
• Maintain site and equipment as appropriate; identify and communicate areas of safety concern.

• MANDATORY EEC certified Lead Teacher.
• Current knowledge of state and YMCA standards and regulations specific to early childhood education and development and childcare.
• Ability to effectively interact with parents and children on a range of issues.
• Demonstrated ability to engage in a range of children’s educational, recreational, and social activities.
• Demonstrated ability to make mature judgments in difficult situations.

Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
